SNO MOOSE - Mediterranean Ocean Observing System for the Environment
The MOOSE project relies on a network of fixed marine stations (buoys, moorings), mobile platforms (gliders, profiling floats), boat campaigns and atmospheric stations (semaphores, radars) in relevant sites located in the North-Western Mediterranean Sea. These provide modern and automated measurement methods for coupled observation of ocean and atmosphere over the long term.
The flow of MOOSE data that are transmitted both in real time and in delay mode is essential for research programs but also for operational oceanography the products of which (analyzes, forecasts, etc.) have become indispensable for research and marine environmental management activities. Using the coupled regional models, MOOSE provides essential data for establishing "future" scenarios that will make it possible to explore changes in the Mediterranean arising from climate change and anthropogenic pressures, thus making it possible to propose policy changes.

- Abstract
-
The MOOSE project relies on a network of fixed marine stations (buoys, moorings), mobile platforms (gliders, profiling floats), boat campaigns and atmospheric stations (semaphores, radars) in relevant sites located in the North-Western Mediterranean Sea.
