The data have been acquired with a Seabat 8160 (50 kHz) multibeam echosounder mounted on board of the CoNISMa research vessel "Universitatis" and with Seabat 8125 (455kHz) multibeam echosounder mounted on board of the CoNISMa research boat “DC7” (chief scientist 2007: Alessandra Savini and Giorgio Budillon; party chief 2008: Alessandra Savini and Giancarlo Spezie). The main objective of this cruise was to study the ecological and geomorphic processes in the Valona Bay. Weather conditions were good during the acquisition.

Use limitation

The main limitation come from the heterogeneity of the bathymetric data in terms of distribution and quality, and the possible errors generated during the interpolation procedures. Not for navigation.

Statement

Bathymetric data were processed using PDS2000 - Teledyne RESON software.

Description

Multibeam data were collected using multibeam echosounders (RESON 8160-50kHz), during 2 cruises performed by CoNISMa in 2007 and 2008, on board R/V Universitatis and with Seabat 8125 (455kHz) during 2 cruises performed by CoNISMa in 2007 May and December on board of the CoNISMa research boat “DC7”.
