Baltic Sea Bathymetry Database
The Baltic Sea Bathymetry Database (BSBD) gathers and distribute water depth data — bathymetry — for the areas of the Baltic Sea countries.
Measuring bathymetry is mostly a national duty for each country, primarily because the production of nautical charts lies within each state’s responsibility. Contains complete, homogeneous up-to-date Baltic Sea bathymetry data from “official” sources: All Baltic Sea national Hydrographic Offices under the umbrella of the Baltic Sea Hydrographic Commission. The model will be updated as new data becomes available.
One layer describing the density of the used data is available for viewing.
OGC Services are available.

Description of data processing : The source data is gridded using the method "Stacked continuous curvature splines in tension". http://data.bshc.pro/media/Hell_Jakobsson_2011_Splines_in_tension.pdf
The available input data consist of Average or Median based grids of 50 to 500m resolution.
Modelling is performed using ETRS89-LAEA projection.
- Description
-
Description of processed data sources : Each Baltic Sea country’s territorial waters and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) is based on data sets provided by the respective national hydrographic authority. Some of these data sets are publicly available, and some are only provided to BSHC for the compilation of the BSBD model.
