Plankton nets are deployed each week in the bay of Villefranche, near the recurring observation station of the SOMLIT program. Different meshes (200μm, 330μm, 700μm) are used to capture plankton over a wide range of sizes. Samples are kept over the long term in a dedicated plankton collections center. They are analyzed using quantitative imaging instruments and software developed at LOV (ZooScan, ZooProcess, EcoTaxa) and operated by the Quantitative Imaging Platform of IMEV.
