The Integrated Ocean Waves for Geophysical and other Applications (IOWAGA) is funded by the European Comission, through a European Research Council (ERC) "Young Investigator Award". The project aims at providing the best information related to ocean waves for applications in the geosciences:

-coastal dynamics
-remote sensing of the ocean
-air sea fluxes
And ocean engineering or wider applications:
-wave observation and forecasting
WAVEWATCH III is a numerical model that integrates the wave action equation. It is based on a spectral representation of the sea state.
