Lineage This survey, which has been conducted annually in March by Cefas since 2006 covers the western Channel (ICES Division VIIe).The design of the survey is random-stratified, with the strata based on spatio-temporal information on fishing activities provided by local fishers. The sampling locations are not fixed from year to year; instead, a different set of up to 80 stations across 13 strata are sampled each year, resulting in, on average, six stations per stratum.
