The aim of this study was to assess the temporal and spatial dynamics of microbial communities in active hydrothermal vents. This study relies on an extensive sampling of six sites of the hydrothermal field Lucky Strike, on the Mid-Atlntic Ridge. More than 30 samples of hydrothermal chimneys and 20 fluid samples from the thermal gradient were collected between 2013 and 2019. The stage of development of chimneys was assessed using X-Ray Diffraction. Mineralogical composition of samples was used as a temporal scale. A diversity study was carried out using high-throughput sequencing of genes encoding 16S rRNA in order to identify Bacteria and Archaea in young and mature chimneys and in fluid samples |
